Republic Airways Holdings (NASDAQ:RJET) has announced its preliminary passenger traffic results for the month of September 2008.

The company said that, during September, it generated 684.1 million revenue passenger miles (RPMs), showing a decrease of 7.0% over the same month last year. Available seat miles (ASMs) for the period fell by 2.3% to 992.2 million.

In addition, block hours were 54,556 in September, a fall of 5.5% from September 2007. Load factor was 69.0% as compared to 72.4% in September 2007.

The company carried a total of 1,390,081 passengers during the month, showing a 0.1% decrease as compared to the same month last year.
